Portsmouth And Chichester Businesses Benefit From Sustainable Business Development Programme Launch
Local SMEs Celebrate The Launch of
PLATO: Sustain Portsmouth And Chichester Group
16 November 2009 - PLATO GB is delighted to launch PLATO: Sustain Portsmouth and Chichester, one of ten PLATO: Sustain groups across the South East region.
PLATO: Sustain, a business programme funded by the South East England Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund, aims to develop local businesses in all areas of development – with a particular focus on an environmental agenda. The unique peer-group learning programme brings together a group of 16 ambitious Portsmouth and Chichester based businesses over a two year period.
The groups are hosted and facilitated by two senior managers from large local companies who already practice environmental principles. The learning is created through shared knowledge, best practice and a proven track record. The benefits to the participating company include: cutting costs, streamlining processes and boosting profits.
PLATO’S Programme Director, Alexandra Massey, said: “We are delighted that Rolls Royce Motor Cars and IBM will be hosting the Portsmouth and Chichester group. The launch of the group is a tremendous opportunity for local businesses to develop, interact and learn from such prestigious organisations.”
Hanno Kirner, Director of Finance commented on the programme, “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars are delighted to be involved with the PLATO: Sustain programme and to actively support the local business community.”
Graham Alexander, Sales and Marketing Director of Welbro Project Management, and a member of the group, said: “"From our first PLATO: Sustain session it was clear that the members of the Portsmouth and Chichester group shared many common issues. The programme will clearly be an interesting and productive process - a team of local business leaders working together to achieve common goals."
